Library of the U.S. Courts Fourth Circuit Satellite
Charleston, West Virginia
RESOURCES
The U.S. Courts Library in Charleston contains print and online resources necessary for legal research in the Fourth Circuit. The Library maintains a computer with internet access for public use. You must provide your own passwords for Westlaw, Lexis and other fee-based sites.
Finding Aids
The collection is accessed by using the Library's catalog in either of two formats:
Card Catalog - the card catalog is located near the bookstacks. As of March, 1999 the card catalog is "closed"; in other words, cards for new titles are no longer being filed in the catalog.
SIRSI Online Catalog - Charleston's holdings (as well as the holdings of the other Court Libraries in the Fourth Circuit) can be searched in SIRSI. Currently SIRSI is only available on the terminal at the Library desk but future plans include a public terminal in the Library and possible access to the catalog on this web site.
The Index to Legal Periodicals is shelved at the beginning of the law review collection.
